Mommy moments

Welcome back! So a lot of things have been going on in our lives this past week. Christmas was very interesting and exhausting. Abe's family joined us at our house on Christmas eve, it was a lot of fun (but for those of you who really know me, know how much we had to clean before hand). I received a lot of belly rubs that night and I passed out before everyone even left. On Christmas day we went to my mom's house, which ended up being pretty relaxed and full of fun memories (Milasia getting into the presents when no one was looking!). That day I also received a lot of belly rubs and comments on how funny my belly is growing, but best of all lots of belly kisses from Austin =) My grandma bought the baby his/her very first toy, which I'm sure they will eventually LOVE.

Outside of Christmas and spending time with family everything is pretty relaxed. I have felt the baby move, it is not a constant movement, but I definitely feel it (even though Geraldine tells me it's just gas). Last night I played the Wii Fit by Elena and Angel's house and when I came home the baby was bouncing all over the place. Abe and I bought a little machine that I can put on my belly and hear the baby move, and now I can feel exactly where to put it. Sometimes feeling the baby move or hearing the movements makes me feel very emotional, now I know that he or she is really in there.

Tonight was another fun and exciting night. Abe and I went over by his mom's house and we started looking through some of their old family photos. I wanted to see some of Abe's baby pictures. I think seeing our baby is going to be interesting because Abe and I were such opposite babies: he was dark with a lot of hair, and I was super pale with no hair.

Overall, I am starting to feel much more connected to the baby and I am excited to become a mommy (who would have thought that anyone would ever call me mommy?). ~ Valarie
